I Had No Clue
I was looking for something to watch on Amazon Prime and I stumbled upon the movie Clue. Yes, just like the board game. I was not really in the mood for something serious and my expectations were really low. I mean, how good can a movie based on a board game be?
I started watching, thinking it would be some lame movie about a murder in a house, but I quickly became more curious when I saw a name in the opening credits: Christopher Lloyd. That's right, Doc. Brown from Back to the Future.
Turns out, I started chuckling from the get go. From the beginning, there's this guy stepping in dog poop, and that sets the tone for the rest of the movie.
At the beginning of the movie, it's more of a "what's going on" kind of movie, as we don't really know why the characters are there, and neither do they. We learn that they are called just like the characters in the game, but it's made clear early that they are made up names to keep their anonymity. As it turns out, they are all getting blackmailed and are invited to a supper date in a mansion for an opportunity to make the blackmail stop.
Things escalate quickly and soon there is one murder, then another one, and another one, and another one. For a total of 5 murders... But who's the killer?
No spoilers here, but I will tell you: you won't expect the ending and it's awesome.
Overall, it's a great movie with good jokes and suspense. It's a nice little hidden gem that I would rewatch it.
